Count Her In: Accelerating gender equality in sport through economic empowerment

You are invited to the WINA International Women’s Day Breakfast to be held on Friday, 8 March 2024.

Join us and our amazing panel of female Olympians and women-in-sport advocate/journalist as they delve into the 2024 IWD theme #InspireInclusion.

Meet our panel line-up:

Professor Rachael Gunn

First introduced to breaking 12 years ago, Dr Rachael Gunn is now Australia’s highest ranked woman in the sport. Competing under B-girl name ‘Raygun’, Rachael recently qualified as Australia’s first ever Olympic quota spot for the Breaking competition at Paris 2024 after winning the Oceania Championships in October.

Outside of sport, Rachael is a lecturer at Macquarie University in media and creative industries. Rachael has a PhD in breaking culture, which is a rich social and cultural art form as well as being a new Olympic sport debuting in this year’s Paris Olympics.

Julia Bell

Julia is a former Australian Rowing team representative. She rowed in the Women’s Quad and Eight at the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. Julia won two World Championships in 2001 and a silver in 2002. After retiring from rowing, she moved to France and commenced her professional career at EY. She’s now back home in Sydney and works on strategic projects as a Senior Manager at Aware Super.

Julia continues to drive connection and engagement between Olympians and the Community through her role at the NSW Australian Olympians Association whilst also being Mum to two boys aged 11 & 13.

Mary Konstantopoulos
