Q. How did you choose a career in insolvency/restructuring?

I chose a career in insolvency/restructuring because I believe in the importance of financial responsibility and helping creditors recover their assets. Plus, I find the stories, the people, and the strategic elements of litigation and dispute resolution incredibly fascinating. It’s like being a detective, but with spreadsheets and legal briefs. I love reading bank statements

Q. How did you get to where you are today?

Through a combination of hard work, passion and dedication, along with unwavering support from my wonderful husband. It’s incredible what a strong support system, determination and good coffee can achieve.

Q. What advice would you provide to your younger self?

Be the boss of your time and learn to delegate. It’s important to realise that you don’t have to do everything yourself. Delegating tasks not only helps you manage your workload but also empowers others to grow and contribute.

Q. What has been your most memorable moment during your career?

There have been many memorable moments:
– being promoted to partner while on maternity leave;
– settling a $40m claim against my client for just $70,000; and
– as a senior associate, having my written submissions published in a Federal Court judgment.

Each of these moments felt like a significant milestone in my career, and they remind me of the impact of perseverance and hard work.

Q. What is one thing you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career?

You are on the right path.

Trust your instincts and keep moving forward.

Sometimes, it’s easy to doubt yourself, but knowing that you’re heading in the right direction can make all the difference.

Q. What is an interesting fact about you?

I have a unique talent for turning complex legal jargon into engaging stories. Who knew insolvency law could be so captivating?
